1. About our Services

We help homeowners understand the solar, battery and energy rebates they may be eligible for, recommend suitable options, and connect them with an accredited retail partner. The retail partner provides the proposal, contracts with the customer, and installs and supports the system.

2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you use our Services, we may collect:

• Contact details, such as your name, phone number, email address and property address.
• Property and energy information, such as whether you own the property, the type of property, any existing solar or battery system, your electricity usage and bills, and the products you're interested in.
• Communications, such as records of our calls, messages and emails with you. Calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes; we'll let you know if a call is being recorded.
• Technical and usage information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and the advertisement or link that brought you to us.

We don't intentionally collect sensitive information, such as health information. If you choose not to give us your contact details, we may not be able to assess your eligibility or help you.

3. How we collect it

• Directly from you, when you use our forms or tools, or speak, message or email with us.

• From third parties, such as advertising platforms, lead and referral partners, and our retail partners, where you have agreed to them sharing your information with us.

• connect you with a retail partner who can prepare a proposal and install your system

• meet our legal obligations and manage our business

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Retail partners. The accredited retailer we recommend, so they can prepare your proposal, assess your property, install your system and claim any rebates. They handle your information under their own privacy policy.
• Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, data storage, customer management, communications and technology providers. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
• Advertising and analytics providers, such as Meta and Google, to measure and improve our advertising. This may include your contact details in a scrambled (hashed) form, so the provider can match your enquiry to an ad without seeing the details themselves.
• Professional advisers, such as our lawyers and accountants.
• Regulators and authorities, where required or authorised by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of RebateSpy, our customers or others.
• A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a sale, merger or restructure of our business.
• Anyone else you ask us to, or where you have consented.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Direct marketing

We only send marketing messages where you have agreed or the law allows. Every marketing email and SMS identifies us and includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and we'll action your request within five business days. You can also contact us at any time to stop receiving marketing.

8. Security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure cloud providers, encryption in transit and access controls. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including supporting your system and meeting our legal obligations. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

9. Your rights
